Ranch History

Named in honor of Dan’s grandparents Lyle and Ester Vergith, the ranch is third-generation family owned and is has been expanded in pasture additions by Dan and Patricia Vergith. Dan spent most summers at the ranch, just outside of Martell Nebraska, helping his grandparents with their operation and was very grateful for the opportunity to purchase the land from his uncle, Bob Vergith in 2007. Since then, the Vergith’s have developed a registered Angus herd that they believe will complement any herd. Dan’s vision of form and function presiding over numbers guide his every decision in the herd makeup. A great ranch crew has been procured and they are the backbone of the operation. Their passion for the animals and the success of the ranch is apparent to anyone who visits.

Why Lylester Ranch?

It’s pretty simple … we love sharing our passion, and building relationships for the breed. Our number one priority is to offer well made, reliable, healthy animals that will improve your herd and advance you toward your personal goals. We pride ourselves in offering a product that is superior in all aspects of Angus phenotype and genotype.

Passion

Our passion, along with our inventory, stands on its own. Our herd is the product of years of fine tunned genetic selection, and following the animals well into production.

Service

Our customer service after the sale is not just superior but is the foundation we establish for a long term relationship with all of our customers. Once you invest in our genetics, we have a vested interest in your success. We enjoy visits from old friends and getting to make new ones, so please contact us for a visit any time!

Relationships

The foundation of any long-standing ranch are the lasting relationships it keeps. Our partnerships with the land, the cow, and the rancher are all equally important.

Certified Angus Beef
It was 1978. Getting a great steak at home or even at a restaurant was hit or miss. The Certified Angus Beef ® founders said, “You know what ? We can do better. We can lay down a set of uncompromising standards for taste and then find the best Angus ranchers to help us.” The eventual result was the Certified Angus Beef ® brand, the heartland’s first premium brand of beef. A veritable who’s who of ranchers, along with Dr. Bob VanStavern, a renowned meat scientist from The Ohio State University, helped develop the uncompromising set of standards that are still part of the brand’s foundation today. Decades later, the vision to be the best of the best remains. Which is why every cut of our beef is judged on 10 exacting quality standards. And why no other brand of beef is as juicy, as tender or as full of flavor. A lot’s changed since 1978 – but we’re still the same collection of family ranchers dedicated to producing beef of uncompromising quality.
